Hamilton, The City With an Edge

Formed though the amalgamation of the former City of Hamilton and lower-tier municipalities such as:  Stoney Creek and Winona, Dundas, Ancaster, Glanbrook, Binbrook and Mount Hope, Hamilton is located in the region of Hamilton-Wentworth.  A collection of urban and suburban city centres, nicknamed The Hammer, Steeltown, Hammertown, and Lunchbucket City, Hamilton is proudly home to the Canadian Football Team: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats.  Neighbours rich with history, Hamilton has a diverse landscape:  from the concrete jungle of trendy pubs and backstreet getaways of down town to the green space trails of the Royal Botanical Gardens  on the Hamilton-Burlington border.    Fondly nicknamed, Steeltown, Hamilton has predominantly been formed on the backs of the hard working skilled tradesman but make no mistake, Hamilton is not your average blue collar town.  It is a rich tapestry of trail blazing doctors, burgeoning artists and the stomping ground to some of the country's best and brightest seeking highly reputable post secondary education from institutions such as:  McMaster University and Mohawk College.
